1. What are the writing programmes? What will they learn?
Each writing programme focuses on a learning goal and includes a series of writing activities that build on top of each other. They have been designed to help children get better at descriptive writing.
2. How much do the writing programmes cost?
The writing programmes cost £24.99 each without any tutor support. Answers will be included for most of the tasks however these will be examples of answers as there won’t be one correct answer. If you would like tutor support each package will cost £97
3. What does the writing programme package include?
This package includes tutor support for the last week of the programme where there are three longer tasks to complete. These tasks involve all the aspects of learning covered and learnt in weeks one through four. Students will be able to send through their completed and edited work and it will be marked according to the success criteria. Feedback offered will be a mixture of the things they have done well and a few pointers about how to improve next time. The work will be annotated with some corrections. The package will also include an up to 45 minute video call to discuss the feedback.

5. Who are the writing programmes suitable for?
They are suitable and aimed at learners in Key Stage 2 ages seven through to eleven. Young people in Key Stage 3 who are struggling with writing would also benefit. Children should be able to write coherently using capital letters at the start of sentences and the correct punctuation at the end.

7. What are the technology requirements?
A printer will be required to print the programme out so that answers can be written down. If you purchase the writing programme package you will need access to a video conferencing platform like zoom.
8. How long will it take to complete a writing programme?
Each writing programme can take as long as needed to complete. A suggestion would be one whole term so about six weeks. However, if you buy the writing programme package then you will have a maximum of 12 weeks (3 months) from date of purchase to access tutor support for the final three tasks in week 5.
9. Do the writing programme align to the National Curriculum?
Yes, the activities and tasks align to the National Curriculum.
10. Do the writing programmes include answers?
Yes, they include answers to most tasks. A lot of the answers will vary which means only example answers can be given for guidance. No answers are given for Week 5 as this will need to be marked by an adult or tutor to see if the child has met the success criteria.
11. How will the writing programmes benefit my child?
The writing programmes will benefit your child in many ways. Firstly, for your child to achieve maximum benefit adult input and supervision is vital. Your child will learn how to use language techniques such as similes, metaphors and personification in sentences. They will learn how to vary sentences, use interesting vocabulary and use sensory details to engage the reader. Children will build confidence as their writing progresses, gain new ideas and the spark for writing is ignited.
12. My child has special needs/learning difficulties. Can they benefit from these writing programmes?
Yes, they will be able to access the programmes if they can write coherently using capital letters at the start of sentences and the correct punctuation at the end. The tasks can be repeated to ensure fluency.
13. What is Spark of Curiosity?
After seeing the great difficulty my son and the countless college students I work with were having with their writing I set up Spark of Curiosity to help young people become better writers. Students often lack the explicit tank of knowledge they need for their writing. My writing programmes and activities are just one way that will help children with their writing fluency. Spark of Curiosity empowers parents to help their children at home and not rely on traditional schooling.
14. What is your refund policy?
No refunds are given for content you have ordered as you shall be immediately granted instant access to the materials and we cannot reverse this access. We clearly lay out what you will be getting from a particular item on the sales page before purchase, this will give you a full understanding of what to expect within the content. 15. How long will it take to get my order?
You will be able to download your documents straight away.
16. How do I cancel/modify an order?
Once you pay for your items you will not be able to cancel or modify your order because you will have access to them straightaway as it won’t be a physical product that will take days to arrive. Before placing an order it is best to thoroughly check the items in your basket or reach out to us with any enquiries or concerns.
17. Do you offer private tuition?
